My name is AJ Goldman. I've been piercing professionally since February 2007. I'm currently working in South Jersey out of 12 Oz Studios in Deptford, NJ. I'm active in the piercing community, constantly learning and sharing information with my peers to stay updated on technique, jewelry quality, piercing placement, aftercare, and much more. I currently run a group on Facebook Called Ask A Professional Piercer, which gives people a chance to ask body modification related questions to some of the most reputable body piercers from all over the world! I am up to date on my CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens Certifications. I am also the only active member of the Association of Professional Piercers in South Jersey! Nobody works harder than I do to bring you the highest quality body piercing service you can get. All of my initial piercing jewelry is internally threaded or threadless and made of 316lvm ASTM F-138 implant grade stainless steel and 6AL4VELI F-136 implant grade titanium, both of which meet the standards set by the APP. All of my initial piercing jewelry is from Anatometal, Industrial Strength, Neometal, Intrinsic, LeRoi, Gorilla Glass and Glasswear Studios. I follow complete hospital sterilization standards. The autoclave gets spore tested monthly to ensure that it's in perfect working condition. I meet and exceed all standards required by the Board of Health.
The client's health is in my best interest. I will turn down any piercing that I'm not confident will have a proper chance at healing. I'll do my best to educate anybody and everybody that walks through my door to ensure you get the best service possible. Even if you've gotten pierced elsewhere and have questions regarding your piercing, I'll still share all the knowledge I have to make sure your healing process will go as smoothly as possible with no judgements and no questions asked.

As a parent, I was skeptical of my daughter's desire for various piercings. As a realist, I understood that in a year or so, I will have no input or say on what she does, and therefore I consented to her request, with the caveat that she allow me to research the most knowledgeable, clean, and in my opinion, best candidate for the job. AJ Goldman not only met my standards, but he exceeded them. He was very forthright on what piercings would fit (her ear) and what options she had (enforcing the fact that, regardless of parental consent, you must be 18 for any industrial piercings). I found his demeanor to be very friendly, professional, and patient -taking the time to honestly answer my myriad of questions. I felt that AJ provided us with a thorough understanding of himself, his practice, as well as educating us on the necessary information pertinent to our daughter's piercing(s). Most importantly, he made my daughter at ease and making her comfortable, and even went as far as to explain that certain piercings, such as the one my daughter initially requested, were not suited to her body type. You will not find many professionals who care more about the client than their cash. I would (and now have) recommended AJ, to anyone interested in any piercings, no matter the type or body location.

I got my nose pierced a couple months ago and I am looking to come back to get some cartilage piercings. AJ made me feel super comfortable and even managed to make my mom feel comfortable with her decision of letting me get my nose pierced!(: Everything was super clean and nice, and everyone at the shop were really nice and helpful. I had my labret pierced by AJ after walking in with just some questions. AJ's knowledge of piercing was amazing. I am black male so there are chances for me to keloid. AJ knew of different skin types reacting different ways and after talking discussing my odds along other piercings i have already had. I felt comfortable and decided right then and there to get pierced. Any and all piercings from now on will be done AJ. If your not sure or have questions just walk in ask for AJ and talk to him no pressure no charges for answering question just a cool dude with a ton of knowledge.

AJ pierced my rook back in July (he's at the Deptford location now) and it was really a great experience. The entire shop was immaculate and all the staff were very friendly. AJ is extremely professional and skilled at what he does, but he also has a great way of making the customer feel very comfortable. He explained everything he was doing, used sterile equipment right out of the packaging, and pierced me quickly and almost painlessly! It is obvious AJ really cares about his craft, and he's got the portfolio to prove it. He educated me on my new piercing and piercings in general, and made sure I did not walk out of that shop without knowing exactly how to care for it. Seriously a truly talented guy. Also, they have a great selection of high-quality body jewelry and everything is fairly priced.
I have not personally experienced the tattoo end of 12 oz, but I know plenty of people who have. The work is consistently amazing; expertly done and beautiful!
I came to 12 oz from the Atlantic City area because they are just that good. I would not go anywhere else for a piercing.

AJ did both of my nipple piercings in early January, 2012. I was nervous beforehand but once I got into the piercing room, AJ helped me be more comfortable by explaining everything he was doing. He was very professional and helped distract me from thinking about the pain by talking to me constantly. He warned me when it was going to hurt and helped me get through it all. He explained the proper aftercare procedures and I was able to contact him through facebook or by phone if I had any more questions. Unfortunately about 2 months through, I had to take my piercings out but I plan on going back to AJ to get them redone soon. He's the only piercer I'll ever trust!

I got my first piercing by AJ 2 days ago, and I now refuse to go anywhere else! He's very knowledgeable about what he's doing and is such a sweetheart! Piercers that I've gone to before seem to just be out for money, but he gave me his honest opinion about my piercing and helped me make my decision. The studio is great and AJ is an awesome guy! A.J. has done a total of 5 micro dermals and all of them healed perfectly. He's professional but make you feel completely comfortable. Every time he's pierced me he has explained everything he was doing and assured everything was sterile right out of the wrapper. Your assured he's very knowledgeable and dedicated to his profession by everything he will explain to you from when you arrive to when you leave. He also has an incredible selection of high quality jewelry and he's on facebook all the time to answer your questions. The customer service of 12oz studios stands well above the rest as well. I have never had a bad experience while getting pierced by A.J. He did my rook and 3 surface bars (that, unfortunately, he also had to remove because my lifestyle is too rough for exotic piercings.) He always responded quickly and thoroughly to any questions/concerns i voiced over his facebook page no matter how many times he got the same "why isn't it working?!" message. In addition to being highly knowledgeable and professional, A.J. is also a very fun and comfortable person to be around. I will never go to any one else to get a piercing or to look for jewelry (he seriously has the most amazing jewelry in the area.) A.J. is the best in the area, hands down.

I have to say that AJ is the best piercer I have ever used. I had my nose pierced in Atlantic City about 2 years ago. The jewelry they used broke and I could not get in right away to see AJ. In the meantime my piercing closed up. When I went to AJ he had to re-pierce my nose, the jewelry he used was far superior to what the other piercer used and healed up in about half the time, plus AJ has experience to bend the jewelry to have it fit properly. I have been so happy with the piercing and the piece of jewelry stays in =). Thank you AJ!!!!!

He never got tired of answering silly questions or the same question a million times!! He really loves his job which makes the whole piercing experience even more fun (yea you thought getting pierced was fun, wait til you get pierced by AJ!!!)

I recently got the Monroe piercing done by AJ. I have other body piercings but AJ is by the best. He is so professional and he actually cares about his clients. He made me feel very comfortable and he left me know exactly what he was doing and when the "worst" part of the pain was over. AJ explained the aftercare and he made himself completely available to answer any other questions I had during the healing process.
